Hi, I'm Valese J, also known as The Neighborhood Publicist! I make public relations, brand management, marketing and event planning simple for my clients. I'm very community focused and love working with cause driven brands run by Black and Brown entrepreneurs.

HER STORY
Valese is from Birmingham, Alabama. A graduate of the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!), she holds a Bachelors degree in Broadcast Journalism and earned a Masters in Marketing and Management from Adelphi University. Her passion for media and marketing was cultivated at an early age from her parents requiring her to spend summers in enrichment camps, learning video editing and public speaking. From there she began creating highlight tapes for local athletes, family members, and events. though she believed this would just be a pastime, after her first semester as an undergraduate, she realized she wanted to pursue a career in media.
During her undergraduate tenure, Valese was able to acquire several internships from reputable companies, such as Cumulus Media and Alabama Public Radio. She also served as the Vice President and Event Coordinator of the Capstone Association of Black Journalists, a branch of the National Association of Black Journalists. She was an AAU Basketball Coach for the Alabama Premier 16U girls team, team trainer for Hoover High School football team, and team manager for the men's basketball team at Shelton State Community College. While working an internship assisting the Promotions and Marketing Director at Townsquare Media, Valese discovered her passion for public relations and marketing. This led to pursuing non-traditional media jobs upon graduation in December of 2015. She worked in marketing and media for Freedom PowerSports, Hair Traffic, Clay Cooley Auto Group, and DexYP.
After three years of honing her skills working in Dallas, Texas, Valese recognized many small businesses and brands lacked the expertise to market themselves effectively. She then decided to step out on faith and offer her marketing services to small business owners who require assistance reaching specific audiences, while maintaining their existing clients. Valese has experience in Press Kit Development, Media Relations, Brand Management, Press Releases, and much more. She is also the co-founder of The Queendom Beauty Bus and The Queendom Beauty Box, and serves her community by mentoring young at-risk girls through Girls, Inc. Her ultimate goal is to be one of the most successful women in the Public Relations and Marketing Industry.
